What these guides cover

Knowing when to buy is often worth more than any single code. These guides explain when each seasonal sale tends to start, how coupon codes and store discounts interact, and how to plan purchases around events such as Halloween, Black Friday, Christmas and the January sales.

How we build these guides

Every guide starts from the offers that are live in our coupon database. We name the store each offer belongs to, quote the discount the way the store states it, and point out the conditions that decide whether a code works, such as a minimum spend, excluded brands or a first order limit. Coupon cards in a guide link straight to the store, so you can check the final price before you pay.

Rules of thumb for any sale

  • Note the normal price of anything you plan to buy a few weeks before a sale, so you can tell a real reduction from a headline.
  • Read the coupon terms: minimum spend, exclusions and end dates decide whether a code works.
  • Factor in delivery and returns costs when comparing stores.

Frequently Asked Questions

Check the price a few weeks before the sale, or compare the same item at other stores. A real discount is lower than the price the item usually sells for.
Most stores accept one code per order. A few allow a code on top of sale prices or alongside free delivery offers, which the coupon terms will say.
The most common reasons are a minimum spend that was not reached, excluded items in the basket, a code for new customers only, or an offer that has ended.
