No. The Smashwords reader FAQ states that all sales are final, which is why it suggests reading the free sample first.
Yes. Smashwords books are mainly DRM free ePub files, and its FAQ says Kindle users can email the ePub to their device library. Some books also have a mobi file.
A practical savings guide for shoppers using Smashwords offers.
Not a store wide one. Smashwords works differently from most shops: the coupon codes come from authors, who can issue private codes to their readers. You type the code in your cart at checkout. Discounts on books marked as a Special Deal, and during Smashwords' annual site wide sales, need no code at all.
The catalog is made up of self published and independent ebooks in a long list of languages, from Afrikaans to Zulu. Readers can choose how much adult fiction they see, with filters to exclude erotica, include mainstream erotica or include all of it. Authors and publishers also use the site to publish and sell their own books.
Read the free sample first, since a purchase cannot be returned. Sign up for the newsletters of authors you follow, since that is one place authors can share private coupons, and look out for Special Deal pricing on the book page before you buy.
