What AML Travel & Tours sells
AML Travel & Tours is a registered tour operator based in Tanzania with a UK office. Its site lists sixteen safari itineraries of 3 to 8 days across the Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Lake Manyara, Kilimanjaro climbs on the Marangu, Rongai, Umbwe, Machame and Lemosho routes plus a day hike, and eight Zanzibar packages of 3 to 8 days. It also has a flight search with instant e-tickets, a service the company says it has run since 2015.
Is there an AML Travel & Tours voucher code?
Yes. A banner on every page of the site prints one code, for 10% off all Zanzibar trips. The banner gives no end date. The site shows no code for safaris or Kilimanjaro climbs at the moment. The safari trip page read for this article carries a Group Discount Available label, but no figure is given for it.
Prices and how to pay
Trips are priced per person, with a from-price in £ on each trip page. The from-prices shown differ between the listing pages and the trip pages of the site, so this page does not quote trip prices. What the site fixes is how you pay:
- Pay in full: one payment with no additional fee.
- Pay in stages: 4 payments when departure is at least 60 days away, 6 when it is at least 90 days away, 10 when it is at least 150 days away, with a 3% fee.
- Final payment: always collected 30 days before departure.
- Deposit: the terms state that 30% secures a reservation.
Online payments go through Stripe. Customers in Tanzania can also pay by bank transfer or mobile money.
Cancelling a trip
Cancellations must be made in writing. With 60 days or more before departure the deposit is forfeited and the remainder refunded; at 45 to 60 days 50% is refunded; at 30 to 44 days 25%; with less than 30 days there is no refund. Refunds are processed within 30 working days. If AML has to cancel a trip, it promises an alternative of equal value or a full refund. The company recommends comprehensive travel insurance. On the 3-day Serengeti and Ngorongoro safari, the price covers the 4x4 vehicle, guide, accommodation, meals and park fees named in the itinerary, while international flights, visa fees and tips are extra.
