The savings come from how the service is priced: the account and US address are free, several handling services carry no fee, and shipment payments earn Viabox Cash. You pay mainly for the international shipping of each forwarded box.

How Viabox works and what the plans add

After signing up you get an address with a suite number in Portland. You shop on any US website, send the order to that address, and Viabox notifies you when each parcel arrives, with photos of the boxes. You can forward a parcel the same day or wait for more and combine them. Paid Plus and Pro plans add longer storage and monthly concierge credits, 2 a month on Plus and 5 on Pro, which expire at the end of each month. Shipping, returns and payment

Shipping is charged on billable weight, the greater of actual and dimensional weight, so repacking bulky items helps. You choose the carrier at checkout from UPS, Aramex, FedEx, DHL Express and, for some countries, USPS. Quoted rates include shipping and handling, but import duties and taxes in your country are extra. No deposit is required. To receive parcels sent by USPS, Viabox needs a completed USPS Form 1583, while deliveries by UPS, FedEx or DHL do not. Certified and registered mail are accepted at no charge, but COD shipments are not. Unwanted mail can be discarded from your account so you never pay to ship it. To return an item to a US store, check that store's return terms and ask Viabox support before forwarding it abroad. Payment is accepted by PayPal, Bitcoin, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and bank wire; checks, money orders and Western Union are not.
