Target Black Friday 2026: Dates, Deal of the Day, Returns

Target's 2026 Black Friday timeline

Target Black Friday 2026 starts long before the day itself. In a release on 21 October, Target said a new Deal of the Day runs every day from 1 November to 24 December, its Early Black Friday deals run from 5 to 7 November, and new limited-time offers follow every weekend through the season. Black Friday is Friday 27 November. Target had not announced its Black Friday week, store hours or Cyber Monday plans when we checked on 31 October.

Some websites already give a 2026 Black Friday week start, an online start time or store hours for Target. Target has published none of these yet, so we leave them out until it does. Deal of the Day: how it works

From Sunday 1 November, Target puts a new deal on sale each day until Christmas Eve. Two details from Target's announcement are worth knowing.

• A preview. Target says this year brings a first-ever one-day preview of upcoming offers, to help shoppers plan ahead. It has not said more about how the preview works, so look for it in the Target app or on Target.com.
• One deal, one day. Each Deal of the Day is a short offer. If you miss it, Target's holiday price match only helps when Target's own price drops on something you already bought; it does not bring back a deal that has ended.

Target has not said how deals are split between stores and the app. Check the deal itself for whether it is online only, in store or both before you make a trip.

Early Black Friday, 5 to 7 November

Target's first Black Friday event of the season runs for three days, from Thursday 5 to Saturday 7 November. Its Black Friday page says the Early Black Friday sale "is back for 3 days" and that more details are coming; the deals themselves were not listed when we read it on 31 October.

What Target has said about its holiday range gives a sense of the price points it is aiming at this year: 100% cashmere from $25, pajamas from $10, festive decor from $5 and faux fur throws at $30. Those are starting prices for the season, not Early Black Friday discounts.

When the Early Black Friday deals go live, two rules help:

• if you buy something from 1 November and Target cuts the price before 24 December, you can claim the difference (see the price match section below);
• a deal is only a deal if the price is lower than usual. Our guide Are Black Friday deals real? shows how to check a price history.

Is Target open on Thanksgiving? Black Friday hours

Target stores are expected to be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday 26 November 2026. On 22 November 2021 Target said its stores "will be closed on Thanksgiving Day moving forward". It has not issued a separate statement for 2026, so this is Target's standing policy rather than a 2026 announcement.

Target has not published its Black Friday 2026 store hours. Its Black Friday page, which still carries text written for 2025, says most stores open early on Friday morning, that hours vary by store and that online deals start at midnight. Treat that as the usual pattern, not a 2026 promise, and check your store's hours on Target.com or in the Target app nearer the day.

Target Circle and Circle 360 early access

Target Circle is Target's loyalty programme, which Target says is free to join, and Target Circle 360 is a separate membership. Target's Black Friday page says Circle members can unlock early access to select Black Friday deals, along with extra coupons and personal offers. That text dates from last year's page, and Target has not published 2026 early access dates for either Circle or Circle 360.

One detail from Target's price match terms matters here: Target Circle deals that apply automatically when you identify yourself as a member can be price matched with proof of membership, but Target coupons and tap-to-add Circle Bonuses cannot be used with a price match.

Target's holiday price match

Target's holiday price match covers Target's own prices only. Starting 1 November 2026, if you buy an item in store or online and the price at Target goes lower on or before 24 December 2026, you can ask for the difference. Here is how Target's help pages set it out:

• Proof: you need proof of purchase, and the current lower price on Target.com, in the Target app or in the digital ad. Target does not accept screenshots or pictures.
• Where to ask: at checkout or at Guest Services.
• Same item only: it must match in brand, size, weight, colour, quantity and model number.
• Store prices: Target matches Target.com prices for in-store purchases and in-store prices for Target.com orders, but not a lower price at a different Target store.
• Not covered: clearance, closeout, liquidation and refurbished items, and pricing errors.
• Out of stock: the item does not need to be in stock, but Target gives no rain checks.
• Outside the holiday window: before 1 November or after 24 December, the usual 14 days apply.

Target does not match other retailers' prices under this policy: the lower price must be at Target.com or a local Target store. Target Plus items sold by partners follow their own price match policy, with the lower price on Target.com.

Returning Target holiday gifts

Target extends returns on qualifying purchases made from 1 November to 24 December 2026. The return window does not start until 26 December 2026, and the deadline depends on what you bought.

Target says Target Circle Card holders and Target Circle 360 members have their own extended return windows, set out in its main return policy. If you are buying an Apple gift early in November, note the 8 January deadline: it comes much sooner than the rest.

Target Cyber Monday 2026

Cyber Monday 2026 is Monday 30 November. Target had not announced its own Cyber Monday plans or dates when we checked. Its Black Friday page mentions discounts continuing through the weekend and into Cyber Monday, but that is last year's text. We will add Target's 2026 dates when it publishes them.

We read Target's own pages from a US server on 31 October 2026: its holiday release of 21 October 2026 on Target's corporate site, the Price Match Guarantee and extended holiday return pages in Target's help centre, Target's Black Friday page, and its fact sheet of 22 November 2021 on closing for Thanksgiving. We did not take dates or hours from other websites.
