Most trick-or-treat candy is bought at big supermarkets and discount stores, and we do not track their shelf prices. This guide covers candy you can order online in bulk, with prices from each shop's own site on 15 October 2026, worked out per piece where the shop gives a piece count.

Candy In Bulk's per-ounce prices are its own, and its listings estimate about 60 pieces a pound for the sweet and sour mix and about 45 for Rainbow Frights; the per-piece and Candy Retailer per-ounce figures are our arithmetic.
Candy In Bulk: 5 lb Halloween mixes
Candy In Bulk's Halloween page has candy favourites, party mixes, trick-or-treat candy and baking supplies. Its banner offers free shipping on orders of $49 or more ($7.99 below that), 10% off for new customers and a free gift when you spend $69 or more, and its product pages offer 4% to 5% off with auto-delivery. Other Halloween items included candy corn at $5.49 a pound, Twizzlers Cherry Ghosts at $3.99 for 8.5 oz and Lindt Lindor Halloween ghost truffles at $14.99 a pound. Several mixes, such as the Fright Night chocolate mix and the Tootsie trick-or-treat mix, were sold out on 15 October.
Candy Retailer: bags by the pound, and check the dates
Candy Retailer's Halloween candy collection had 196 items, among them Brach's candy corn at $6.99 for 20 oz, Brach's mellowcreme pumpkins at $9.09 for 20 oz and Zachary jelly or mellowcreme pumpkins at $4.59 to $4.89 a pound; several Blow Pop bags were sold out. Its Deals collection takes about 50% off short-dated candy and puts the best-by date in each product name. Many of those dates, in August and September 2026, had already passed when we looked, so read the date before you buy candy to hand out. Shipping is free on orders of $150 or more to US addresses, and orders placed by 1pm ET are processed the same business day.
Will it melt? Cold packs and heat rules
- Candy In Bulk: chocolate, gummies and caramels marked "Cold Pack Protect" always ship with ice packs and an insulated liner; cold packs are free on orders of $49 or more and $2.99 below that.
- Candy Retailer: sells ice packs and says it takes warm-weather precautions from April to October.
- Sugarfina: ships with insulation and frozen cold packs in warm weather and may add a $2 to $3 warm-weather surcharge.
Order timing for 31 October
- Candy In Bulk: orders leave its warehouse in 1 to 2 business days, up to 3 in peak seasons; it does not state transit times, so check the estimate at checkout.
- Candy Retailer: expedited delivery takes 1 to 5 business days and economy 4 to 6.
- Sugarfina: processing can take up to 5 business days, then standard shipping 5 to 7; expedited (2 to 3 days, ordered by 10am PST Monday to Wednesday) and express (1 to 2 days) are faster.
- Design It Yourself Gift Baskets: weekday orders before 3pm Central ship the same day, and ground delivery typically takes 3 business days or less after shipping.
By our arithmetic a Sugarfina order on standard shipping can take up to 12 business days, so from mid-October choose a faster option and check the delivery date at checkout.
Halloween candy gifts and boo baskets
Sugarfina's Halloween range included mystery boxes at $50 (was $85), $75 (was $115) and $125 (was $170), a Halloween candy cube bundle at $36 (was $39.80) and a Peanuts Great Pumpkin tasting collection at $35. Its site also shows free gifts with codes: a candy bar at $75 spend (SPEND75), three candy cubes at $125 (SPEND125) and a Peanuts Halloween bundle at $175 (SPEND175). Design It Yourself Gift Baskets has Halloween gift boxes from $45.95 to $119.95, and its code BOO takes 15% off non-sale gifts until 31 October.
Make your own treats
For home-made treats, bakedeco has a 4-cavity jack-o'-lantern lollipop chocolate mould at $3.00, bat, witch hat and pumpkin pop cutters at $15 each and pumpkin gel colour at $3.00. Its Monday to Thursday orders placed before 3pm ET usually ship the same day (Friday cut-off noon ET), and shipping is free over $75 on eligible items within the continental US. Allergies and the Teal Pumpkin Project
The Teal Pumpkin Project, run by the non-profit Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), asks households to offer non-food treats in a separate bowl, show a teal pumpkin or FARE's printable sign, and add their address to its map. How much to buy, and when a local store wins
Multiply the number of trick-or-treaters you expect by the pieces you plan to give each, then compare the per-piece prices above. Shipping changes the sums: below a shop's free-shipping minimum, $7.99 on a $30 bag adds about a quarter to the cost. If a nearby store has a bag at a lower price per piece, buying there also removes the delivery risk. Candy usually cannot be returned: Candy In Bulk accepts no food returns, only damaged, wrong or melted orders reported within 7 days with photos, and Candy Retailer takes back unopened cartons within 30 days of contacting it, with a 15% restocking fee if you changed your mind.
