Some people hand it to a friend, a partner or a coworker in October; others leave it on a neighbour's doorstep with a "you've been booed" note, and the neighbour then makes one for someone else. How to put a boo basket together

Pick the container

Choose one main gift, then three to five fillers

• Main gift: a throw blanket, a mug or a plush.

Halloween throw blankets

A throw is the biggest item for the money. On 25 October UntilGone showed its Noble House microplush Halloween throw, 50 x 60 inches and 100% polyester, at $15.99 instead of $34.99, and Tanga had a 50 x 60 inch autumn and Halloween throw for $14.99.

Halloween mugs

DailySteals has a ghost-shaped ceramic mug with a pumpkin detail for $19.99. Its page gives a 600 ml capacity and says the mug can go in the dishwasher.

Halloween socks

Tanga sells a pack of five pairs of Halloween socks for $10.99, which is about $2.20 a pair: enough for several baskets.

Halloween nail stickers
