What a couples costume really costs
We priced couples and group costumes at five stores on 15 October 2026. Some stores sell a pair as one set, and others sell each costume separately, so compare the total for everyone.
- Party City sells two-person sets, from $35.98 to $102.59 among the first 12 we read, such as the Spider-Man Couples Costume at $66.49 (was $94.98) and the Batman and Catwoman Adult Couples Set at $97.18 (was $107.98).
- Halloween Express listed 51 couples costumes, 32 of them on sale, such as Barbie and Ken at $97.77, Oreo couples costumes at $63.99 and a Rock Paper Scissors group costume at $25.38 (69% off).
- HalloweenCostumes.com sells each costume separately: a Women's Wilma dress at $24.99 plus a Men's Plus Size Fred Flintstone from $29.99 makes a Flintstones pair from $54.98.
Family and group costumes
HalloweenCostumes.com's Group Builder suggests themes for 2 to 20 people, such as Ghostbusters, Grease, Scooby-Doo, Toy Story and Frozen. Priced from its own sections, a Ghostbusters family of four with a men's costume from $59.99, a women's jumpsuit at $69.99 and two kids' costumes from $39.99 each comes to about $210. Spirit Halloween has Couples and Group sections, and a Toy Story family of four with the Adult Woody costume kit ($39.99), the Adult Jessie costume kit ($34.99), a toddler Buzz Lightyear ($39.99) and a Baby Buzz one-piece ($36.99) comes to $151.96, enough for TREAT26's free standard shipping over $40. Sets or separates?
A set is simpler to order and often cheaper per person, but both halves come together, so check the sizes offered for each costume in the set. Separates let each person choose a size and a budget, and one sold-out size does not stop the whole order. For a group, separates from one store also mean one delivery and one set of return rules.
Sizing a pair or a group
Spirit Halloween says most of its costumes run smaller than standard sizes and advises choosing the bigger size between two. HalloweenCostumes.com has plus size sections for men and women, and Halloween Express lists plus size options too. Order everyone's costume at the same time if you can, because popular sizes sell out in late October.
Order together and in time
For US delivery by Friday 30 October, HalloweenCostumes.com lists 22 October for Standard and 29 October for Premium shipping, and Party City lists 26 October for Ground and 29 October for Next Day, before 11am CDT. When one costume does not fit
- HalloweenCostumes.com: each item can go back within 30 days of the order if new and unused, with an 18% fee on refunds or none for store credit.
- Party City: online orders within 14 days of delivery, and Halloween items only up to 7 days before the holiday.
- Halloween Express: costumes only unopened, after approval, with a 15% restocking fee.
- Spirit Halloween: store exchanges with a receipt from 17 to 22 October; store sales are final after that.
