Christmas tree deals published so far

Black Friday Christmas tree deals for 2026 have started earlier than Black Friday itself, which falls on Friday 27 November. Home Depot has published three holiday decor prices for its Black Friday Savings Event, Lowe's has named its tree and lights Doorbusters, and two tree brands are running fall sales on their own sites. This table shows each offer as the store states it and the date we read it.

Home Depot adds that offers, prices and availability may vary, and that selection and pricing can differ between stores and online. Balsam Hill, Michaels, Grandin Road and Old World Christmas did not open for our tools on 1 November, so their offers are not in the table.

When to buy a tree: early, on Black Friday or after Christmas

Christmas tree sales in 2026 are spread over two months, so the question is less "is it on sale" and more "which sale fits when you decorate". These are the dates the stores have published:

• Now: Lowe's Black Friday deals started on 29 October across holiday decor, and the tree brands' fall sales above are running.
• 5 to 25 November: Home Depot's Black Friday Savings Event, with its $49.98 pre-lit tree.
• From 16 November: Lowe's 12 Days of Deals, with new offers each day before Black Friday.
• 26 and 27 November: Lowe's Doorbusters, members first online, then everyone on 27 November. Lowe's and Costco stores are closed on Thanksgiving.
• 3 to 24 December: Lowe's December Deal Drops, through Christmas Eve.

Waiting for after-Christmas markdowns can lower the price, but no store had published 2026 clearance dates when we checked, and the sizes and styles you want may be gone by then. If you want the tree up for the whole season, buying in November gives you the widest choice.

Pre-lit, unlit, flocked or black: tree types

Pre-lit trees

Both Home Depot's and Lowe's announced tree offers are on pre-lit trees. A pre-lit tree saves setup time, but the lights become part of the tree. Check whether the bulbs are LED or incandescent, how many bulbs there are, whether the listing says the rest stay lit if one bulb fails, and whether the warranty on the lights is shorter than the warranty on the tree.

Flocked, black and coloured trees

Flocked trees have a white coating that looks like snow; check whether the listing says it sheds. Black and coloured trees are a style choice rather than a different kind of tree, so compare them on the same points as green ones: height, width, tip count and lights.

Slim and pencil trees for small rooms

Slim and pencil trees keep the height but cut the width at the base. If floor space is the limit, the base width in the listing matters more than the height.

Sizes: 6.5, 7.5, 9 and 12 foot

Measure the ceiling first, then take off the height of the stand and your tree topper, plus a few inches of clearance. That gives the tallest tree that fits. Then check the base width against the corner or wall you plan to use.

• Height: the size in the name is usually the tree's height; check whether it includes the stand.
• Tip count: more tips usually means a fuller look at the same height, so compare tip counts between two trees of the same size.
• Setup: hinged branches fold down, while hook-on branches clip into the trunk one by one, which takes longer.

Home Depot's published $49.98 offer is on 6.5-foot trees. Taller trees cost more, so compare the price per foot only between trees with similar lights and tip counts.

Tree brands' own sales

The tree brands' banners say "up to 70%" and "up to 50%" today, before Black Friday. Those are fall sales, not Black Friday offers, and an "up to" figure is the top discount, not the discount on every tree. Open the tree you want, note its price and the date, and compare it with the stores' Black Friday prices when they are published.

• National Tree Company: up to 70% off, 20% off a wreath or garland when you buy a tree, and free shipping on all orders as a limited-time offer. It asks buyers to register products with a digital copy of the sales receipt.
• King of Christmas: up to 50% off sitewide with free shipping, plus a clearance section at up to 65% off.
• Balsam Hill: its site did not open for our tools on 1 November, so we cannot list its offer.

Christmas lights deals

Home Depot lists 100-count LED string lights from $5.98 in its event, and Lowe's names Holiday Living lights in its Doorbusters, alongside new vintage-inspired lights and glitter sparkle lights in its range. Govee, which sells app-controlled lights, had ended its Halloween sale on 31 October and showed no Black Friday offer yet on 1 November.

When you compare light sets, check the bulb count and length, whether the set is rated for outdoor use, how many sets the listing says you can connect end to end, and whether a timer or remote is included.

Outdoor decorations and inflatables

Home Depot's event includes select 3.5-foot LED pre-lit inflatables for $19.98, along with oversized decorations, and Lowe's lists outdoor decor in its Doorbusters. For inflatables, check the height, whether the blower and stakes are included, and whether it is rated for outdoor use in the weather where you live.

Ornaments, wreaths and garlands

National Tree Company's offer of 20% off a wreath or garland with a tree is the clearest ornament and greenery deal published on 1 November. Lowe's says its Holiday Living New Kensington and Real Feel collections include a range of tree sizes, wreaths and garlands, and its Doorbusters include garlands. If you want a matching set, buy the wreath and garland from the same collection as the tree, because colours and needle styles vary between ranges.

Christmas cards and photo cards

Shutterfly showed free shipping on orders of $99 or more with code SHIP99 on 1 November; its other card codes that day ended on 1 November. Minted did not open for our tools. We add their Black Friday card offers here when they publish them.

Returns and storage

Home Depot's and Lowe's return pages did not open for our tools on 1 November, so check the return terms at checkout, and keep the box and receipt until the tree is up and every light works. Costco's return policy offers a satisfaction guarantee on merchandise with a list of exceptions. Our Black Friday returns and price matching guide has the holiday return windows of the big stores.

Storage is part of the cost of an artificial tree. Check the folded size if the tree comes apart in sections, and whether a storage bag is included or sold separately.

Cyber Monday Christmas tree deals

Cyber Monday 2026 is Monday 30 November. Lowe's lists "extended Cyber Deals" in its holiday plan without dates, and Walmart runs Cyber Monday deals online from 30 November to 2 December. Tree brands had not announced Cyber Monday terms on 1 November. We add them here when they do, and all Cyber Monday offers we track are on our Cyber Monday page.

How we check these deals

We read each store's and brand's own announcement and site, list the offers as they state them, and give the date we read them: 1 November 2026 for this version. We label fall sales as fall sales, and we leave out any store whose site blocks our tools rather than copy its offers from elsewhere.
