John Lewis Black Friday 2026 at a glance

John Lewis Black Friday 2026 centres on Friday 27 November, and John Lewis says its Black Friday offers will carry on all the way through to Cyber Monday, 30 November. Its tech deals are already live, while the beauty and home Black Friday pages still say to come back later. Gifts bought from 1 October can be returned until 23 January 2027.

The table holds what John Lewis had published when we read its pages on 1 November 2026.

One sale calendar site gives 28 November as the John Lewis Black Friday date, and a tech site runs a page titled 2026 with 2024 text. John Lewis's own guide, dated 21 October 2026, is the source for the dates here. For other stores, see our UK Black Friday guide and our guide to when Black Friday 2026 starts at each store.

When does it start and when does it end?

It has started in part. John Lewis's Black Friday tech page was live with savings on 1 November, and its guide says "We currently have 100s of deals on Tech". The other departments have no start date yet. The guide says shoppers can expect savings across fashion, beauty, home, tech and kids, but the beauty and home Black Friday pages still showed a "Come back" message.

The end is clearer. John Lewis says its Top Deals and own-brand offers "will carry on all the way through to Cyber Monday (30 November)". So the main Black Friday sale finishes on Monday 30 November 2026. John Lewis has not said when the deals in its other departments begin. Each tech deal can still end earlier, because the tiles on the tech page show no end dates, so go by the date on the product page where one is shown.

John Lewis suggests building a wish list before the sale: sign in to My John Lewis on a computer or in the app and "heart" the items you want, so you can add them to your basket quickly when the price drops.

Tech deals live now

The Black Friday tech page lists savings by category and by brand. On 1 November 2026 it showed:

  • up to £200 off selected TVs, with up to £200 off selected Samsung TVs, up to £200 off selected LG TVs and up to £400 off selected Hisense TVs;
  • up to £100 off laundry, with up to £150 off selected Bosch laundry;
  • up to £100 off selected vacuums, with £100 off selected Miele vacuum cleaners;
  • up to £200 off selected refrigeration;
  • £100 off selected MacBook Air laptops, plus computing and headphone offers.

John Lewis's guarantees are part of the price comparison. Its guide says discounted Black Friday items still come with a five-year guarantee on all TVs and a two-year guarantee on tech and small electricals, at no extra cost. A TV that costs £20 more at John Lewis than elsewhere may still be the better buy if the other store's guarantee is shorter, so check both.

One trap is worth knowing. The listing called "Black Friday Sale" holds about 10,000 items, and not all of them are reduced. On 1 November it included new iPhones at their full price, next to a MacBook Air shown with a "Save £100" line. Some items carry a different kind of offer instead of a lower price, such as free delivery through a promo code or a discount on a second product. Look for a crossed-out price or a "Save" line before you count an item as a Black Friday deal.

TVs, laptops and iPads

TVs: the TV savings above are the biggest figures on the page so far. Each tile says "selected", so the saving applies to some sizes and models only. Check the screen size and model number before you compare prices with Currys or Argos.

Laptops: the MacBook Air 13.6 inch with the M5 chip, 16GB of memory and 512GB of storage was listed at £1,199, down from £1,299, on 1 November. Apple products are a special case under the Price Promise, as explained below.

iPads: the 11 inch iPad with the A16 chip and 128GB was in the Black Friday listing at £429 with no reduction shown, only a free delivery offer. That shows why the "Save" line matters. We will add any iPad reductions here when John Lewis lists them.

How the Price Promise works on Black Friday

John Lewis's Price Promise, which it calls Never Knowingly Undersold, is the main reason some shoppers buy there in Black Friday week. John Lewis says it applies "even during Black Friday". Here is how it works, in plain words:

  • 25 named retailers. If one of them sells the identical item for less, you can claim the difference. The list is Amazon UK (electricals only), AO, Apple, Argos, ASOS (not beauty), Boots, Currys, Dreams, Dunelm, The Entertainer, Fenwick, Flannels, Furniture Village, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Heal's, House of Fraser, Lakeland, Marks and Spencer, Mamas and Papas, Next, Richer Sounds, Selfridges, Smyths and Space NK.
  • 7 days from the order date, not from delivery or collection. You can claim before the item arrives.
  • John Lewis's own price drops count too, for 7 days after you buy.
  • Identical and in stock: the same make, model, size, colour and specification, sold directly by the retailer, in stock and ready for delivery. Marketplace and third-party sellers on those sites are not matched.
  • How to claim: fill in the online form with a screenshot or photo of the lower price and your order details. John Lewis aims to reply within 48 hours, and refunds go to your original payment method.

The exclusions are what matter most on Black Friday. John Lewis does not match clearance prices, multi-buy offers, member or loyalty prices, voucher or discount-code prices, student or group prices, or flash sales, which its terms describe as limited-time deals, lightning deals "or other prices featuring a countdown clock". Many of the sharpest Black Friday prices elsewhere are exactly those: a lightning deal with a timer, a members-only price or a code. A regular sale price at one of the 25 stores can be matched; a countdown deal cannot.

A few more rules affect common gifts. Amazon UK prices are matched only for electricals sold by Amazon itself, and not for electrical toys, so a cheaper LEGO set on Amazon does not qualify, while a cheaper set at Smyths, The Entertainer or Argos can. Apple products are matched only against Apple, unless another retailer gives a two-year guarantee as standard, and John Lewis notes that none currently does. Concession brands inside John Lewis, such as Jo Malone, Le Labo and MAC, are not covered.

Our guides to Currys Black Friday and Argos Black Friday cover two of the 25 retailers, and our Currys store page lists its current codes.

Beauty, fragrance and home deals

Not yet. On 1 November 2026 the Black Friday beauty and fragrance page and the home and furniture page both said "Come back for Black Friday deals in 2026". John Lewis's guide expects savings across beauty and home, from white-goods appliances to makeup and home accessories, but it has not named products or prices for them.

Two rules are worth knowing before you buy beauty or bedding in the sale. Opened or used beauty products, and bedding, cannot be returned unless faulty, for hygiene reasons. And concession brands are outside the Price Promise. We will add the beauty, fragrance and home deals here, with prices and dates, once the pages go live.

LEGO and toys

John Lewis had published no LEGO or toy Black Friday prices on 1 November 2026. Its guide lists kids among the departments where shoppers can expect savings, but the Black Friday pages we read named no toys. We do not repeat last year's LEGO prices from fan sites, because they are not this year's offers.

The Price Promise can still help with toys. Smyths, The Entertainer and Argos are on the list of 25, so if one of them sells the same LEGO set for less within 7 days of your order, you can claim the difference, as long as the lower price is not a member price, a code or a countdown deal. We will add John Lewis's own LEGO and toy deals here when it publishes them.

John Lewis Cyber Monday 2026

At John Lewis, Cyber Monday is the last day of the same event rather than a separate sale. Its guide says the Black Friday offers run "all the way through to Cyber Monday (30 November)". Expect the same Top Deals and own-brand offers, unless a product page shows an earlier end date. After 30 November, the Price Promise and the Christmas returns window still apply to what you bought. Offers from other stores are on our Cyber Monday deals page, and Black Friday offers on our Black Friday deals page.

Returns and refunds on Black Friday buys

John Lewis's guide says its extended festive returns cover Black Friday purchases. Its returns page gives the dates and the rules:

RuleWhat John Lewis says
Christmas windowAny gift bought between 1 October and 24 December 2026 can be returned until 23 January 2027 if unwanted or unsuitable
Normal window30 days, in original condition, with proof of purchase
Original conditionUnused, with all packaging and labels kept in good condition, and no personal data on the product
Where to return online buysA John Lewis or Waitrose shop, by post, or a Click & Collect location
Refund timingWithin 14 days of the return, to the same payment method
Large items collected from youFree if damaged or faulty; otherwise a £29.95 collection fee
Not returnable unless faultyIncludes opened beauty products, bedding, mattresses (unless a supplier promotion says otherwise), live plants and Christmas trees, and personalised items
Items bought with a promo codeIf you return part of the order, part of the promotion value is deducted from the refund
FaultsExchange or refund within 30 days; after that, repair or replacement under the Consumer Rights Act 2015

The £29.95 fee is the one to plan for. If you buy a sofa, fridge or washing machine on Black Friday and change your mind, returning it is not free unless it is damaged or faulty. Measure first.

UK law sits underneath the store policy. The government's guidance says you have exactly the same refund rights on sale items as on full-price ones. For online orders, you can cancel within 14 days of receiving the item, without giving a reason, and then have another 14 days to send it back, and the refund is due within 14 days of the retailer getting it back. That right covers online and phone orders, not items bought in a shop.

How we check this page

Every date, price and rule above comes from John Lewis's own pages, read from our US server on 1 November 2026: the guide "Everything you need to know about Black Friday 2026" (21 October 2026), the Black Friday tech, beauty and home pages, the Black Friday Sale listing, the Price Promise page and its terms, and the returns page. The online cancellation rules come from GOV.UK's guidance on returns and refunds. We do not take dates from sale calendar sites or older articles, and we have not tested these products.

We will read John Lewis's pages again every few days and add the beauty, home, fashion and toy deals when they appear, then refresh the page in Black Friday week. For more UK and US retailers, see the rest of our Black Friday guides. This guide is written by the SavingArena Editorial Team.
